So I finally got to watch it six years later and with my elder sis and we were completely blown away, the story is so realistic and relatable, Julia Roberts who played Elizabeth Gilbert or Liz as she was promptly called through out the movie was a succesful writer who was struggling to find her balance and fall back in love with life again after going through an un happy marriage and an unsuccesful rebound relationship makes up her mind to travel the world for a year.
You can literally feel yourself feeling her heart breaks, pain and then joy. It took me through a blast of emotions and I loved every moment, I am a sucker for tourism and the travel life even though I haven't been fortunate enough to actually experience it yet. So I was blown away by the friends she made when she lived in Italy ,the dinners they had and the italian food uhmmm yum! plus I even learnt an italian saying "Dolce far niente" which means the sweetness of doing nothing" lol ...then the experiences, the realization she came to in india through the friends she encountered and the beautiful scenery of Bali and her bike rides and seeing how she fell helplessly in love again just when she began to think maybe Love wasn't for her anymore.
It was actually a New York Times Best Seller for 187 weeks and the movie was made from the memoir . I actually i'm not much of a novel guy, seeing the massive amounts of pages alone scares me lol so I would recommend the movie if you are like me but if you love to read Novels by all means get it but since we generally watch movies more than we read I recommend that if any of you guys haven't watched the movie then you should add it to your to do list and try as much as you can to watch it before the year runs out and be inspired, here's a much more detailed description of the movie below that I found online.
Eat. Pray. Love is a memoir novel that tells the story of 32 years old, Elizabeth Gilbert who was educated, had a home, a
husband, and a successful career as a writer. She was, however, unhappy
in her marriage and initiated a divorce. She then embarked on a rebound
relationship that did not work out, leaving her devastated and alone.
After finalizing her difficult divorce, she spent the next year
traveling the world.
She spent four months in Italy, eating and enjoying life ("Eat").
She spent three months in India, finding her spirituality ("Pray"). She ended the year in Bali, Indonesia, looking for "balance" of the two and fell in love with a Brazilian businessman ("Love").
